Continuing to Thrive

Updated: Aug 27, 2022

This summer we focused on the theme “THRIVE”!  It was great to see so many children, young people and adults come together to grow, learn and work for the benefit of camp.  We definitely all thrived this summer and came one step closer to becoming all that God desires for each of us.

As summer winds down, it’s definitely a bit of a letdownbut we can take what we’ve experienced and carry it with us through the year!  Thriving doesn’t have to be temporary…. it can be permanent and something that children and adults can make a part of their everyday life.

Psalm 1:3 says, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

This is exactly what God desires for all of His children, young and old alike!  He loves us so much that He longs for us to prosper and flourish in EVERYTHING we do, even in the hard times. We don’t have to just “survive” this life.  God’s grace and love has enabled us to live it abundantly!

As the seasons change and we get back into our normal routines, whether it’s work, school or family life there are 3 principles that can help us as we seek to THRIVE:

BE ROOTED IN GOD

To be rooted takes dedication and consistency.  Take time for personal study and prayer.  Seek to learn God’s Word and soak in what He has for you.  There is something for everyone and every circumstance that you will face or are already facing.  His promises are there for us, all we have to do is accept and believe them.  Don’t keep His words to yourself!  Share them with your children, family and friends and show them how they can have a fulfilled abundant life!

BE EXPECTANT

God wants the best for all of us!  You can live like you expect the best.  This doesn’t mean things are always easy or that there aren’t going to be struggles and trials.  What it does mean is that God will walk beside us, He won’t abandon us and everything He brings to us, He will bring us through. God can make something beautiful out of even the worst of circumstances.  As I think back on my life, I can firmly say that without the trials and disappointments that I’ve experienced I wouldn’t be the person I am today.  God used each good and bad thing to shape me, mold me and bring me closer to being a happy, thriving child of His!

BE THANKFUL

Don’t take anything for granted!  I Thessalonians 5:18, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

This is what God desires from us, to be thankful in everything!  Be intentional with the people in your life, be present in every conversation and find the positive!  It’s not always easy, but the more we do these things and make them a habit, the easier it becomes and eventually develops into who we are.  When the disappointments and trials come our way, we can be thankful because we know that God is control and that He will do as he says and bring something good out of it.

I pray that as you all continue on this journey we’ve started this summer that you are encouraged and strengthened by the love of our Savior.  Your camp family loves you and we want you to THRIVE and live the best life that God has for you.  Life isn’t easy, but together we can live it fulfilled and blessed!

Our staff would love to pray with you and/or for you anytime!  Please don’t hesitate to reach out and allow us join you in prayer for what your heart desires and needs.  Much love!
