Junior Staff Training (JST) is a week-long leadership and service experience designed for students ages 13–15 who are curious about summer camp ministry but aren’t quite ready for a full-time staff commitment. As a precursor to our ASCEND program, JST offers a meaningful introduction to serving at camp while still enjoying the fun of being part of the camp community.
The JST program takes place during Junior Camp, July 19–24, 2026, and blends hands-on service with community-building and spiritual growth. Students support our kitchen and maintenance teams with a variety of tasks, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make camp run smoothly. They also join in select Junior Camp activities and participate in team-building experiences that strengthen relationships within the JST group and with other staff.
Throughout the week, JST students gather daily with caring leaders who walk alongside them—teaching foundational aspects of ministry, teamwork, and cooperation while encouraging growth in their personal faith and walk with Christ. The result is a supportive, fun, and faith-filled environment where students are challenged, encouraged, and empowered to discover their potential.
There is a $150 fee to participate in this program. If the participant attends Teen Camp the following week they will recevie $100 off their camp fee.
