Bringing Camp Home: 3 Tips for Finding Meaningful Fellowship

Happy day after Thanksgiving! The holidays are a special time of year filled with family and friends gathering together to fellowship. It reminds you how important it is to surround yourself with people who have helped you grow and have cared for you throughout life. Today we’re going to talk about a different kind of fellowship that is equally as important.

One of the best things about Camp is the family that is created here—a family of people seeking God together. During a week of summer camp or a weekend retreat, you are surrounded by people praying with you, challenging you, and encouraging you. This is fellowship.

Fellowship is vital in order to grow in your faith, but sometimes it can be hard to find or make time for it in your everyday life. Here are three tips for creating space for fellowship and Christian family:

  1. Join a church family. Gathering together to worship and learn is one of the best things you can do for your spiritual growth. Don’t have a home church already? Reach out and we can help connect you with one in your area.

  2. Get together with a believer friend. You can meet at a coffee shop for a Bible study or go for a walk and share about what God has been revealing to you.

  3. Fusion Fellowship. This might be a little bit of a cheat in Bringing Camp Home, but we promise it’s worth it. Every other Saturday night, Pine Brook holds a time of fellowship right at Camp. We gather for a meal, activities, and a message from Scripture. It is a way to keep in touch with your Camp family throughout the year.

Fellowship can sometimes seem like just an extra thing to add during an already busy schedule, but it is so important and fulfilling. We encourage you to seek it out and make it a priority. Check back next week for more tips on Bringing Camp Home!
